GENERAL CONDITIONS-2007


Rates: Air and Land Prices may change due to currency fluctuations or changes in the tax. There is also a strong possibility of a fuel surcharge that is dependent on the cost of fuel about 4 months prior to departure.

Reservations and Payments: A completed tour application together with an initial deposit of $300.00 per person which is refundable. This will hold a spot. An additional deposit of $1500 per person must be received before March 30, 2007 before confirming reservations on a definite basis. A third deposit of $2000 is due July 1, 2007. The balance of payment is due November 1, 2007. A late handling fee of $25 applies to each payment received after the due date.

Cancellations: A full refund of initial deposit of $300 will be made if cancellation is received in writing before March 30, 2007. An $1800 per person cancellation fee will be charged if cancellation is received in writing after March 29, 2007 and before July 1, 2007. No refund applies to cancellations after November 1, 2007. If a substitution is found before November 1, 2007, only a $500 cancellation fee will be charged. Airline tickets are non-refundable.

Not included in price: All items not specifically listed under tour features. A departure tax of about $5 is collected when departing Ushuaia and $18 when departing Buenos Aires. This tax is subject to change. The entry fee of $70 for either event is additional. Any fuel surcharges assessed by the cruise company.

Insurance: Insurance: Trip cancellation, baggage, health and accident insurance is mandatory for residents of the U.S. and is highly recommended to all participants. Residents from outside the U.S. must check within your country for availability of insurance coverage. All passengers must produce a certificate of health insurance.

Responsibility: These tours are operated by Marathon Tours, Inc. of Boston, MA who acts only as an agent for the passenger to the companies offering such services and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity caused by any reason whatsoever by any party offering such services. All terms and conditions offered are governed by the laws of Massachusetts. The right is reserved to cancel the tour prior to departure with a full refund made as full settlement to the passenger. The right is reserved by Marathon Tours, Inc. to deny acceptance of a booking application by any person. Marathon Tours, Inc. may make any changes or alterations in the itinerary as it deems necessary for the proper handling of the tour and may refuse any person as a member of the tour. The sole responsibility of any airline used is limited to that set out in the passenger contract evidenced by the ticket.
