Bermuda International Race Weekend 2009
Can you survive the Bermuda Triangle Challenge?
We are very excited about our 31st trip to the Bermuda Race Weekend.
We hope that many of you can plan to
escape your winter training grounds to once again enjoy the island charm of this British colony.
The trip always falls on the Martin Luther King weekend which for many constitutes a
Monday holiday. This is a perfect getaway weekend after the hectic holiday season and a welcome
break for warm weather training away from the ice and snow of the northeast winter.
You can choose to run the marathon, 1/2 marathon or 10K race and fitness walk. Or enter the 2nd Bermuda
Triangle Challenge (BTC) which requires running 3 races in 3 days. To earn a special medal and T-shirt, you must run the
open division of the Front Street Mile on Friday evening, the 10K on Saturday and either the marathon or half-marathon
on Sunday. A special BTC welcome cocktail reception on Thursday will kick off a 4 night stay
combining lots of fun running events combined with Bermuda hospitality.
This year the Fairmont Hamilton Hotel will be hosting individuals and their friends
and families to a fantastic mid-winter getaway. An inclusive package includes full breakfast
along with a welcome cocktail reception on Thursday evening.
With only 6 flights per day departing form the U.S. for Bermuda during January,
seats get heavily booked quite early.
Over 50% of the visitors traditionally stay 4 nights or more.
Many take an entire week to enjoy the mild weather in the 60s and low 70s,
perfect for running, tennis or golf.
Every effort will be made to provide you with an exceptional vacation. |
