Walt Disney World Marathon / Event Info

Event Information

Date: January 10 and 11, 2009 at 6:00am for each race.

Course: The marathon loop course passes through all theme parks including Epcot, The Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios, and finishes back through Epcot. The course is very fast and flat

Weather: Average temperatures range between 45F-70F. Ideal conditions for running.

Entry Fee: The marathon is $105, the half-marathon is $95 and the Goofy Challendge (both races) is $225. Our package hotels must be booked in order to obtain a guaranteed entry. All race entries will be done online through the Walt Disney World Marathon organizing Committee beginning September 1. We will email you the registration link once we receive it from Disney Sports. Do not register online on your own since it is more expensive. It must be done through the special Marathon Tours link to receive the reduced rate.

Eligibility: Your entry is guaranteed when reserved with travel arrangements. Marathon runners must be 18 years or older on race day and 1/2 marathon runners must be 14 years of age or older. Limit two entries per room.

Time Limit: Participants in either the full marathon or half-marathon must maintain a 16:00 per mile pace (3:30 finishing time for the half and 7:00 time for the marathon). Runners not reaching check points within this time will be transported back to the finish line. Awards: Every runner receives a commemorative race tech T-shirt and a medal after finishing.
