Event Information

The Florence Marathon will celebrate its 25th running with over 8,000 runners from 55 countries. The event is the most important roadrace in the Tuscany region and the 2nd largest marathon in Italy. Local TV provides 3 hours of live covergage.

DATE:
November 30, 2008. 9:00am.

ENTRY FEE:
55 euros (about $82 USD) before July 1
65 euros (about $97 USD) after June 30 and before October 16
85 euros (about $126 USD) after October 15 and before November 15
You can enter online at www.firenzemarathon.com.
A doctors' note attesting that you are fit to run a marathon must be submitted with your entry form. This is required by Italian law.

COURSE:
Runners will enjoy panaramic countryside views together with some of the city's most historic sites including Piazza del Duomo, Piazzale del Michaelangelo, Piazza della Signoria, Pitti Palace, and the famous bridge Ponte Vecchio. This flat and fast course boasts the 4th fastest time on Italian soil by Kenyan James Kutto in a time of 2:08:40.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Expected temperatures range from 45 to 60 degrees.
