Event Information The Maui Marathon, Hawaii's oldest,
will celebrate its 38th running with a limit of 3,200 runners. The 5th annual half-marathon will have a limit of 1,200 runners.
Don't forget about the Maui Tacos 5K on Saturday morning which starts and finishes at
Whaler's Village in Kaanapali.
DATE: September 14, 2008. 5:30am for the marathon
and half-marathon.
ENTRY FEE:
Marathon: $70 Early bird entry through December 31, 2007; $90 until June 1;
$100 until August 31. $105 from Sept. 1 to Expo.
Half-marathon: $65 Early bird entry through December 31, 2007; $80 until June 1;
$85 until August 31. $90 from Sept. 1 to Expo.
Maui Tacos 5K entry is $40 before June 1, 2008; $45 after August 31.
AMENITIES: Free morning shuttle service from Kaanapali to Kahului is provided.
Along the way 18 enthusiastic aid stations provide water, Coke, Powerade and iced sponges. All
finisher's receive a colorful T-shirt, logoed medallion and complimentary massage at the race
finish area.
COURSE: Point-to-point from Kahului to Kaanapali.
This 26.2 mile course recognized as one of the world's most scenic marathons as about 18 miles
of the route is within 50 meters of the cobalt blue Pacific Ocean with a backdrop of the islands
of Lanai and Molokai.
WEATHER CONDITIONS: Expected temperatures range from 65
to 80 degrees.
