Event Information
Date: September 6, 2008
Course: The loop course starts and finishes in the center of Pauillac and runs
through 59 vineyards along village roads, through chateaux courtyards and rows of
ripening grapes. Wine is served at every mile or you may select the more
traditional choice of water or electrolyte drink. If you need a little boost at 25 miles,
try some white wine with oysters. You will be entertained by 25 musical
groups....from string quartets to reggae. With over half the field in elaborate costumes,
this event is more live theatre than an athletic competition.
Weather: Average temperatures range between 60F-75F with low humidity.
Entry: We offer a guaranteed entry when you book our packages.
An official entry form will be forwarded to you after receipt of
a completed tour application form and deposit by check. The entry fee is $150 USD.
**French law requires that all visiting runners submit a doctor's note with the entry form attesting
that they are healthy enough to run a marathon.
Eligibility: All runners must be at least 21 years of age.
Awards: Every runner who finishes under 6 1/2 hours receives a medal, certificate, bottle of wine with a special marathon label,
shoulder bag and commemorative T-shirt. The winners get their weight in grand crus.
